A closer look at what I actually built and led at each job, beyond what fits in a resume bullet.
Total Expert
I joined Total Expert in 2022 as a Senior Software Engineer on the Foundations team, and grew from an individual contributor into the team's primary technical lead. I still design and write production code myself, but I also scope and hand off work to other engineers, unblock them when they get stuck, run high-volume code review as a teaching tool rather than just a gate, and lead knowledge-sharing sessions for the wider team. On the largest project I've led, I was tech lead for a squad of five-plus engineers and stayed involved through three different team ownership changes, writing the onboarding and handoff documentation that let each new team get productive quickly.
Projects
LOS Integration Rebuild
Tech lead for a multi-engineer squad rebuilding the company's core loan-origination-system integration after the vendor sunset the legacy SDK it depended on, against a hard deadline. Owned the architecture decisions (queue/compute platform, database, credential storage), inherited and reverse-engineered a codebase built by an outside vendor, and coordinated technical handoffs as the project moved across three owning teams over its lifetime.
Lead Ingestion API
Built the API layer that lets customers push leads into the platform programmatically for the first time. Ran the initial technical spike, defined the OAuth scope, built the scaffolding, and wrote the public-facing documentation, coordinating closely with a downstream CRM team on the integration contract.
Import Diff
My first major project after joining: a system that reconciles only what has actually changed on repeated data imports, instead of reprocessing everything every time. Led it from design through production rollout. It was widely adopted, had very few defects, and cut processing overhead.
Reliability, tooling & mentorship
Work that runs alongside named projects: triaging production incidents (including a database-level fix coordinated live with the platform team), building a log scrubber to stop credentials from leaking into application logs, writing runbooks so on-call engineers and support teams can look up common issues themselves, and running internal knowledge shares on AI-assisted development practices.
Intertek
For nine years at Intertek I worked across two different kinds of software: enterprise business systems that ran the company's day-to-day operations, and control software for physical lab test equipment. I was technical lead for the organization's two core applications in that space, owning each end to end: requirements, architecture, database design, development, CI/CD, and production support. That leadership scope also extended to people. I mentored junior and intern developers on-site in York, PA, and gave ongoing code review and architectural guidance to a remote development team in India, while still independently owning delivery on my own projects.
Projects
DORA
DORA is a public roof assembly search database built for SPRI (the Single Ply Roofing Institute) in partnership with Intertek, used by roofing professionals, contractors, and manufacturers to look up wind uplift, impact, and thermal performance data across thousands of tested assemblies. I owned the architecture from the initial framework through ongoing feature work, and led its migration onto Microsoft Azure, managing the cloud infrastructure directly and coordinating delivery with a remote development team.
Oasis
Oasis is the company's internal ERP and CRM platform (timecards, expenses, purchase orders, invoicing, CRM). I led a performance refactor of the expense report and purchase order approval flow, built a revenue-sharing module that measurably cut manual processing time, and when a third-party CRM integration we relied on changed without warning, designed and shipped a replacement integration path under time pressure.
Lab & Control Systems
PLC and instrument-control applications for physical test equipment (solar calorimeters, environmental chambers, and structural and thermal test rigs), plus enhancements to the Fire Chamber testing system in York, PA. This work demanded more upfront caution than the enterprise side, since a test rig has real physical consequences if the control logic is wrong, so I worked closely with the engineers running the tests to verify behavior before rolling out changes.
